The Sabre 426 is a moderate displacement cruising yacht with the performance attributes of lighter boats, yet offering considerably more comfort and on-board amenities. Like her older siblings, she offers a near perfect blend of traditional style and outstanding performance.
The story of the Sabre 426 is one of heritage mixed with such modern construction and design as the use of vacuum bagged Divinycell PVC closed cell foam core and structural E-glass, one of the strongest, lightest and most durable laminate combinations available today. But while modern technology will be hidden below the surface, the traditional Sabre details will be there for all to enjoy and admire. These thoughtful and elegant details make each Sabre design a secure and beautiful sailing yacht, and a joy to own.
Moriel has a Sabre Smoke White hull and Sport White Deck with contrasting non-skid on deck a step transom and a wing keel. She is equipped for ease of handling, and boasts an electric main halyard winch, mainsail Tides Track system, Navtech hydraulic backstay adjuster, Hall AirVang, Doyle sails with a Stack Pack System and cruising spinnaker gear. Her cruising amenities are many and include reverse cycle air conditioning, full electronics including a flat screen TV/DVD player, Ipod Stereo with Rear Cockpit Controls and 3 zone salon and cockpit speakers. 5 Interior 2 speed Hella Fans, microwave and upgraded refrigeration with 12vdc system and a separate engine driven system, wells dinghy arch, 2012 AB Rib Dinghy with 15 hp Yamaha 2 cycle outboard, Raycore fuel filter mounted on dinghy transom and outboard engine hoist (new 2015).
The interior of the Sabre 426 is hand crafted of the finest American cherry with a teak and holly sole. Satin varnish gives the wood a delicate sheen, which accents the highly detailed joinery work featuring Sabre's signature cold-molded curved laminated trim not found in other yachts. The generous headroom measures 6' 6" in the main salon and aft areas, and 6' 4" in the forward cabin. Drawers are maple dove-tailed construction with smooth sliding roller guides. Locker doors have fully louvered fronts, recessed self-closing hinges, and positive sealing push button latches. The elegant and extensive lighting is by Cantalupi.
Nowhere is the study of old and new elements more evident than in the main salon of the Sabre 426. The bulkhead-mounted table, a long time Sabre owners' favorite, allows for an exceptionally open and airy salon. For entertaining, or for simply relaxing at the end of an exhilarating day on the water, the two L-shaped settees offer comfortable seating spaces for all of your family and friends. The portside settee converts to a double berth.
Storage is plentiful both above and outboard of the settees. New Sabre woodworking detail found aboard the 426 are sure to please the most discriminating buyer.
The U-shaped galley is both functional and conveniently located at the base of the companionway, within easy reach of the cockpit. Large DC-refrigerated iceboxes are found aft where the most volume is available in the hull shape, and a front opening door provides convenient access to the items in the bottom of the refrigerator.
Stainless steel sinks are situated on the forward arm of the galley, as close as possible to the yacht's centerline. A convenient in-counter dish drainer/locker is located outboard and three large lockers are provided for dry goods. Many drawers are available for utensils and cookware.
The owners' cabin aboard the Sabre 426 is forward, where ventilation, light, and sleeping comfort are the best. This queen size berth is surrounded by many drawers and lockers for storage of personal gear. The hanging lockers are cedar lined.
Her head compartment, with ceramic tiled floor and spacious separate shower stall is well equipped, functional, and easy to clean. Hose runs from the WC to the holding tank are as short as possible so as to minimize head odors. The Raritan Elegance fresh water head, and Tank Watch monitor further enhance this approach.
The aft cabin is roomy and airy. A clever overhead hatch (concealed under and protected by the cockpit locker lid) offers excellent ventilation as well as connecting the cockpit crew to those below. Many drawers and lockers are provided for stowage of personal effects. This boat features aft vanity and sink with Cedar Lined clothing locker.
The increasing use of personal computers for navigation led us to supply a specific space on the chart tabletop for that purpose. The inboard end of the chart table hinges open for chart and accessory storage, and a large panel for flush mounting of electronics is provided in clear view of the navigator. The fully equipped custom Sabre tool drawer highlights the storage in this area.

"Moriel" is a first class bluewater world cruising yachts. She has been to the Caribbean and beyond. This vessel has undergone many upgrades and is outfitted to travel anywhere while being self sufficient. You will not find a better passage maker to take you where your heart desires in style, safety and comfort. Don't miss this one!!
All oriental rugs and personal items including Artwork, carvings, Weems and Plath clock, Weems and Plath Barometer, Paintings and other personal items are not included in sale.
We bought Moriel new with the dream of making her our home until we could go cruising on her. Since we were in the NYC area, Moriel is equipped with a ESPAR for heat in colder climates. During the first few years we lived on her, raced her (she is light and has a very low PHRF rating) and got away for quiet weekends / long weekends and vacations. She is well appointed and comfortable and we never felt like we were in a small space. This boat doesn’t need to be in a marina. Bringing in our favorite art, rugs and extras made her ours. Being able to sit 8 at a salon table for dinner and folding that table against the wall for dancing afterwards made her a home (she has an excellent Fusion Stereo System with 4 speakers).
Over the years we added to her in order to realize our dream. We would ask cruisers we met all over the world what they had that they never used and what they didn’t have that they needed and add accordingly as well as additions for comfort and ease (ex. Custom mattress and wine glass holders that attach to the bimini frame). We would also check out other cruising boats anchored to see their set up and copy what we saw (ex. rain covers so hatches can remain open when raining). We were also very safety conscious so we added all the best safety equipment and assured we had redundant systems all while maintaining her to the highest standards.
In total, Moriel cruised more than 10,000nm (only a bit over 1300 hours on the engine) and 6 months a year for 6 years (2 years in New England and 4 in the Caribbean). We have spent weeks to months on anchor / mooring without being plugging in (or tied to a palm tree). There is nothing that can’t be prepared in the galley (I have baked everything from lasagna and bread to German Chocolate Cakes). Moriel is set up to easily be sailed by 1-2 people.
This boat is for someone with a sense of adventure who wants to anchor out in the quiet, watch the sunset and look at the stars, take the family on a vacation they will never forget (we have plenty of memories of our girls jumping off the back into NE and Caribbean waters) or travel to the islands (NY to Bermuda in 4- 5 days). She comes with many extras including tools, spare parts and a fairly new dinghy (the car). If you want to get away from it all and be off the grid, this is the boat for you.
